London Charity Launches “London Spree” Shopping Discount Card
With 20% Off, Giving Has Never Been So Rewarding
The Junior League of London (JLL), a London charity, is launching its third annual fundraising shopping event held on 4 – 28 March 2010. For a £30 contribution, shoppers receive a “London Spree” Shopping Card, entitling them to 20% discount at all participating retail partners across London.
Following previous success, and in honour of the JLL’s 25th anniversary of serving the London community, this year’s London Spree event has been extended to four weeks in March – cards are valid for purchases from participating vendors between 4 and 28 March 2010. Participating retailers represent a wide variety of offerings including: clothing, spas, fitness, restaurants and furniture. For a full list of participating retailers, please see Notes to Editor.
Purchases of the card will support JLL’s community programmes, targeted to break the cycle of poverty in London. The purchase of one London Spree card can cover the cost of an after-school tutoring session for at-risk children or a year’s worth of books for a young reader, while the purchase of two cards can pay for a Christmas gift hamper, filled with gifts and necessities for a family in need.
“We are very excited about the London Spree card and hope that Londoners will support this programme again this year. For a small contribution, you can save 20% at local shops, restaurants and other services. And while you are saving money, you will also be supporting our programmes in London as we help to make a difference to the lives of those in need,” said Sara Niedringhaus, President, Junior League of London.
To purchase a London Spree card, shoppers can log on to JLL’s website, www.jll.org.uk/londonspree or contact our office at 0207 499 8159. An up-to-date list of participating retailers (both alphabetical and by categories) and a map of retailer locations is also available on the site, as well as details on how retailers can sign up to participate.
