We’re thrilled to announce joint May Members of the Month Antonia Vaptzarova and Suzy Bibko for their inspiring response to the COVID crisis:

Antonia stepped up to Chair the LBDI Committee when the League really needed this help.  Despite very long hours at work, she rallied her Committee, the Board and the Community Council to pivot our campaign in light of the COVID crisis and then successfully led the LBDI COVID-19 Poverty Awareness campaign, exceeding the fundraising target and raising over £15,000 for our Community partners and programmes. Antonia’s ‘get it done’ attitude and results-driven approach has really supported the League during this time – thank you Antonia!

Suzy is a JLL Past President and long standing Sustainer. She’s also an avid seamstress and reached out to see if any of our community partners needed face masks.  ReStart requested a dozen which she made and donated to them without hesitation.  But she didn’t stop there – Suzy then made and sold 75 more masks and donated 100% of the proceeds to the JLL. The masks sold out in under a week with around £400 raised for the JLL!  Thanks Suzy for your awesome contribution of time, materials and talent to support our partners and our cause!!
