Our AGM is a wrap!
“What this year has taught us is that we are strong and resilient and unstoppable! Don’t stop that momentum! Because we are doing great work and at the end of the day, you won’t remember that good or bad job you had or the TV shows you watched but you will remember the difference you made in the life of a person. ” – Kelaine Blades, 2020-2021 JLL President
Our members met for our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday night, to celebrate our achievements from the past year and turn our focus to the year ahead. As London is still slowly coming out of lockdown, most of the meeting was held virtually. Despite the challenges of a global pandemic and spending our entire League year – except for Holiday Hampers – doing everything virtually, our members continued to get creative, use their voices and advocate for alleviating poverty in our community. As community leaders, they’ve stepped up to provide Holiday Hampers to over 1150 vulnerable Londoners, served nearly 1800 meals and raised thousands of pounds to support our mission. They continued investing in leadership development training, seeking greater awareness and education in the area of diversity and inclusion and gaining new skills in everything from physical and financial to mental wellbeing.
We said goodbye to the women who served in leadership roles this year and welcomed the bold new team who will be paving the way for the future of our organisation. To put it simply, our members are on a roll, and we can’t wait to carry that momentum into the 2021-2022 year as civic leaders and catalysts for change in London. We hope you’ll join us!
